It’s sad to note that yet another earthquake has hit Pakistan. This time it happened in Baluchistan, in the South-Western parts of the country bordering to Afghanistan. Dawn reports that the death poll is reported to be 230, whilst 47.000 are homeless. At night the temperature goes below zero and as winter is approaching quickly it will only get colder.
It will be interesting to see whether the national and international distaster response will be more effective than after the eartquake in Pakistani-administered Kashmir in October 2005. So far though, it seems like the pro-Islamic groups provide the most active and wide-reaching relief.
